Ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer Avoids Jail In Vehicular Manslaughter Case
Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer is avoiding possible jail time after entering a plea deal in his vehicular manslaughter case. He was in court on Wednesday and entered a no-contest plea in the case to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence. Last year, the musician was sued for wrongful death and negligence after he ran over a pedestrian in Los Angeles in March. Klinghoffer was driving his SUV when he knocked the victim down in a crosswalk. The guitarist has been sentenced to one year of informal probation and 60 days of community labor. Klinghoffer is still facing a civil lawsuit from the victim's family. The next hearing for that case is scheduled for July 1st.
